SKINCARE ROUTINE UPDATE & DERMA E REVIEW - Never Skip Brunch Blog - Denver Style Blogger - Denver Fashion Photographer

Slather,  Rinse, (moisturize!) Repeat

If you tuned into my January skincare series (Part 1 here | Part 2 here) , you already know that I used to be a little lazy when it came to skincare (like, not really that long ago), but I've since started to invest more time in a consistent skincare routine. Let me tell you, it has made all the difference. My skin looks and feels so much better. It turns out not being lazy when it comes to taking care of your skin is totally worth it.

While the essentials of a solid skincare routine are as simple as making sure to cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize (with sunscreen!), it never hurts to add a few other good-for-you products into the rotation, like masks and peels to help brighten and clarify. I'm like super into purifying masks right now. I've found a couple that are super great, and leave my skin feeling refreshed, including this charcoal mask I've got on.

I usually try to be careful about what the products I'm using on my skin, and I feel like it's especially important with things like masks and lotions which have ingredients that are absorbed because they sit on my skin for a little bit. I try to make sure these products are as natural as possible so that my skin is getting good nutrition and not a layer of crazy chemicals.

Enter Derma E. They recently sent me a box with a couple of things to try out, and these products (+ the brand overall) sure pass the test for a solid natural product to add to my routine.

SKINCARE ROUTINE UPDATE & DERMA E REVIEW - Activated Charocoal Skincare - Never Skip Brunch Blog - Denver Style Blogger - Denver Fashion Photographer

Derma E  Review

I tried out two of their activated charcoal products, and I'm pretty on board. So, activated charcoal isn't new. It's been in hospitals for a while to treat overdoses and alcohol poisoning because of its ability to absorb toxins. In skincare, it acts in a similar way by grabbing onto dirt and oil from your skin so that it can be washed away. Pretty good stuff. It kinda makes sense that it's a great ingredient to have in your face scrub or mask.

So, if you haven't added charcoal into your routine yet, here's the couple products that can do that for you. The first is the purifying daily detox scrub. I did like the detox scrub pretty well. It has the perfect sized exfoliators. Not too big and coarse to where its too scratchy, and not so tiny it feels like they aren't doing anything. It is very gentle, so good to use every day, but to be honest I don't see myself using it everyday since I'm pretty addicted to my DIY scrub. What I do love it for is an occasional deep cleanse. Using the same products on your face all the time can cause buildups of ingredients. So every once in a while its great to use a different deep cleanser to give you a clean slate.

This mask however, is going into my regular routine asap. It left my skin feeling amazing. It's got some texture to it, which means you can scrub around a little when rinsing it off and bam, you didn't have to add in and extra step to exfoliate.

Some other good things? They're free of cruelty, GMOs, Gluten, and Soy, plus recyclable.

P.S. These Derma E products were gifted, but as always I give my honest opinion.
