Happy Friday! I've received a few questions about some of the beauty products that have been on my Instagram lately, so it seemed like the perfect time to do a skincare product faves roundup! If you are looking for my current makeup faves, you can read all about them in this Spring Beauty Faves post.
01. June Jacobs Trio
I hadn't had the chance to try out any June Jacobs products, but they sent me this trio and I've fallen in love. The packaging is gorgeous, everything smells amazing, and the products are wonderful.
This toner mist is a perfect addition to your purse for summer. You can use it as part of your skincare routine in the morning and evening, or throughout the day to keep you skin feeling fresh. It includes Neroli oil to help revive skin cells and red and green tea to protect skin against free radicals.
I'm a sucker for a good moisturizer. I tried this one out on both my face and body, and really liked it. It's long-lasting, but not overly greasy or heavy which means it has that goldilocks consistency. I hate heavy lotions, but I also hate lotions that are too light and seem to only provide moisture the first 5 min I have it on.
I love this lip balm! It's not waxy and makes my lips feel like they are actually getting moisture instead of just getting coated. The balm also has a blend of peach, jojoba and coconut oils plus shea and cocoa butters for moisture. Other great ingredients are vitamin E, peptides, and hyaluronic acid.
02. Nip & Fab Bee Sting Duo
Yes, these products contain actual bee venom to help plump skin. Nip & Fab sent me both plumping shot and the bee sting fix eye cream. The serum (aka shot) is great because I can layer it under my night cream or mix a few drops into my current favorite moisturizer. If you fall in love, the bee sting line also has a lifting mask, cleansing pads, and body souffle.
03. Coola Sunscreen
If you've been around this blog for a while, you've probably heard me rave about this stuff. It was on my list for beach essentials and I bought the whole travel set with minis to pack for my honeymoon. I love the cucumber scented kind the best for my face, but the unscented kind is my backup. For body, the pina colada spray is my go-to. It's just so tropical and beachy.
I recently learned from my dermatologist that just counting on the sunscreen in your makeup isn't enough. It's a good plus, but you should apply an actual sunscreen or moisturizer with sunscreen as it's own step, whether that's all you're wearing or as part of your pre-makeup skincare routine.
04. Hydropeptide Nimni Cream
I recently have been doing a little research about preventative skincare, and one of the themes that kept coming up was incorporating a retinol cream into your routine as early as your 20's. So I added this Nimni Cream into my skincare routine as a night cream. It 's got amino acids to help with collagen production and also packs Vitamin C & E. I've been really impressed with my results so far. I feel like my skin is brighter and looks more refreshed.
Just a little pro tip: when you start using a product with retinol, it's best to start 1-2x per week and then work up to using it daily since it can make your skin sensitive. You should also be careful about which products you are using with your retinol cream, since some combinations can cause redness and irritation.
