Ah! I'm so excited to finally be able to share this with you! I've spent so much time working on this line and getting ready to launch and it feels amazing to be able to show you all the designs.
Not going to lie, one of my very favorite moments was getting two leggings and one skirt as a sample in the mail and seeing how comfortable and cute they were. The fact that the pieces have a custom tag with the NSB logo was just a little icing on the cake for me because it finally felt real: that my designs are going to be out there, coming out of your closet in the morning as you're getting ready and hopefully bringing you a little inspiration and confidence as you go about your day.
ABOUT THE LINE
The Never Skip Brunch line is designed to bring a little color and fun into everyday wardrobes. The core of the line includes pencil skirts with fun patterns which allow the NSB girl to experiment and be fashion forward while fulfilling her need for work-appropriate pieces. The line also features leggings and tees to make a statement when you're out and about or even working out. Accessories like totes and phone cases are the perfect way to add a finishing touch. I had so much fun designing this line! I'm so used to recommending products to my followers, but it was such a cool experience to create pieces just for them that I know they'll love.
EXPLORE THE LINE
I wanted to write this post not only to show you how you can style these poppy polka dot leggings outside of athleisure with this outfit, but also to give you a little more in-depth look behind the line and it's inspiration. I already talked a little bit about the overall inspiration for this line as far as injecting a little color and fun into your everyday looks. Here's a little peak at all the different collections and what motivated my to create them:
The leggings are 100% intended to be your party pants. Whether that means making a statement by dressing them up for an everyday look or playing it safe and wearing them just for your workout. My goal was to create a pattern and style that would work for everyone but also include a range of styles so that everyone can also find something that might challenge you style wise and help push you out of your comfort zone. The leggings feature four-way stretch, which means fabric stretches and recovers both on the cross and lengthwise grains...so important if you're addicted to queso & cake like me and need just a little forgiving stretch.
I created the pencil skirt collection for the girl who is just over it with work attire and needs something super fun but more importantly, comfortable to spice things up. From classic elegance to boisterous abstract designs, I tried to give everyone a pattern to feel confident in. My pencil skirts are made with microfiber yarn - which is oh-so-smooth and comfortable - plus they sport the same 4-way stretch as the leggings. It's probably as close as you can get to wearing sweatpants to work...unless you already do wear sweatpants to work.
Grapic tees get a little occasional hate for being basic. But even if you buy into that - at the end of the day they're still your billboard, and they give you the chance to say how you feel or crack a joke without even speaking. A good graphic tee can draw smiles, is a conversation starter, and if you know how to dress it up it's the perfect casual chic. I started this collection out with a strong brunch theme, and I'm planning to expand into other themes I know my NSB girls will love, like fashion quotes and cheeky sayings.
I've always thought of accessories as the exclamation point to a woman's outfit. - Michael Kors
A pair of jeans and a white tee can mean a million things depending on how you accessorize it. I'm launching this collection with just a few simple pieces like totes and phone cases. I have so many ideas in the works as far as where the accessories line goes, but for now I'm collecting and sorting through those ideas in hopes of bringing you the very best of them.
POPPY POLKA DOT LEGGINGS OUTFIT
One question I get (surprisingly) often when people find out I'm a fashion blogger is, "How can I make leggings look sophisticated?" It's right up there with, "How do I dress up a basic tee?"
I have to say that my default answer is always, "Heels and pearls," because what outfit wouldn't be improved by both of those things? I think one of the other secrets to dressing up leggings is having a good neutral base and also being intentional about making the whole outfit look pulled together. This can be done by using the same elements - like a metallic or specific color - throughout the look.
The example here would be the way the coral heels tie into the coral hues in the embroidery on my tee. This makes the look feel consistent and more well thought out, which gives an impression of elegance in an otherwise casual look. Another great tip is to incorporate classic patterns like polka dots or stripes. When paired with heels or pops of red, these two patterns give of an effortlessly sophisticated feel.
