Spring is officially here, which means florals are in. "But," you say, "florals are always in for spring."
True, but different types of florals go in an out of style depending on the year / decade, so you can't just wear any flower pattern and be on trend. Florals this spring and summer are big, bold, and bright. Florals this season are 70's inspired. You'll want to look for prints that have large flowers and foliage that come in bright colors. All hues of yellow, bright almost-neon pinks, and brilliant blues are favorites.
Tropical, jungle and South American inspired floral patterns are also a must this spring and summer. Look for these patterns on maxi dresses, rompers, and flowy pants.
Florals aren't just sticking to tops and dresses. Shoes, bags, clutches, and scarves are all sporting bright and bold flower power.
Mixing and matching florals is also a do.
Just be sure to vary the flower size in your floral pattern. For example, mix a pattern that has large bold flowers with a pattern that has small and more subtle or monochrome flowers.
This romper is one of my summer favorites. It slides on and ties in the front, plus has cute ruffles on the shorts. The floral pattern is perfect because it features super bright colors with a black background.
Bright tones that are grounded in a neutral keeps the look bright and fun, but makes it extremely wearable.
Rompers can also pair with just about any shoe, from wedges, heels and platform sandals to slide-ons and sneakers, which makes them a great add to your summer wardrobe.
I'm also wearing my favorite bracelet, which is a gold bangle that holds my hair tie. Not only does it look cuter, it's also way better for you.
I've linked this exact look below (the romper is under $25), plus an alternative floral romper and pair of sandals.
