Day Trip to Breck

I was raised in a small town, but it didn't take long for me to call the city home. One of the things I love most about living in Denver is being able to take a scenic day trip to a nearby mountain town.

This trip to Breck was initially part of a collaboration with Thrillist all about fall day trips to take around Denver, but I grabbed a couple blogger friends and connected with a couple amazing local brands so that I'd be able to share a little more in-depth look at some of the amazing places this town has to offer. We grabbed a car and headed off on our day trip, making sure to drive through Loveland Pass for some gorgeous mountain views.

VINTAGE SWEET & CHIC

First on the list was doing a little shopping at some of the local spots. We popped into Vintage Sweet & Chic and I was blown away by the aesthetic and pieces I found. From luxury vintage furs, to fun and fashion forward fall essentials, to gorgeous accessories crafted by local artisans, the shop was beautifully curated to offer a little bit of something for everyone. We spent a few hours styling some fall outfits, trying on jewelry, and ooh-ing and ahh-ing over all the different chic finds.

I've always believed that curating a boutique is an artform, and Katie, the founder and owner,  does this task exceptionally well. I was really drawn to the balance between luxury and boho, and the way the shop seemed to sweep me away with a sense of adventure in every new treasure I found. I could see myself grabbing a warm coffee after a morning on the slopes and getting lost all over again in this shop. If you've never been in, I recommend giving their Instagram feed a scroll for a little preview of what awaits you on your next visit.

I brought home the most gorgeous black and white quilted jacket, which has already made appearances in my NYFW street style looks and will be seen in so many more of my cold weather looks to come.

Other than that, it's impossible for me to pick a favorite piece, but some notable ones are the gorgeous turquoise rings from local designer Katie Pickens, a mint off the shoulder cosy which is perfect for chilly weather & amazingly soft, and the gorgeous handmade macrame selection that made me want to snag a piece for most every room in my house.

The shop beautifully showcased some incredible local vendors which made shopping small and supporting local businesses feel even better.

Lunch at The Crown

Shopping bags in hand, we walked next door for a casual lunch at The Crown. I hadn't been before, but it was a favorite spot for my blogger friend Brennan who came with us on our day trip adventure. She had taken some adorable engagement photos there back in December when it was perfectly decorated for the holidays.

The space is warm and inviting, with comfy chairs, a fireplace, and a range of sips and snacks – whether you're feeling some fresh coffee or a bloody mary. I ordered the latter, along with the Lincoln sandwich. I mean no exaggeration when I say that it was the best sandwich I've ever had.  We sat on the patio for lunch since the weather was cool but not cold, then moved inside to a window booth to chat over some coffee and dessert. We talked blogging, photography, and before long I had found my new favorite corner in Breck.

What I'm Wearing

I went uber casual for our daytrip so that I'd be comfortable for the drive. I chose an olive bodysuit, my favorite jeans, and the best ever peep toe transition booties from TOMS. The day started off pretty chilly but warmed up to the comfortable high 60's.

Life in the Mile High

There's so much I didn't know about Denver before calling it home. If you're transplant (like me) or just passing through, you might be still discovering some of Denver's hidden gems. If you've never been to the Mile High, but have always wondered what it's like to live here, stay tuned. I'm dishing on my favorite Denver spots. Some I've discovered by chance, some I've finally got around to visiting after multiple recommendations and they've quickly become favorites.

Before we dive into the specifics, let's chat about some general things to know about Denver. First, it's super creatively inspired. From the street art and uniquely remodeled industrial buildings, to activities like fairs and festivals, Denver's got its own special creative flair. Yes, the weather is as amazing (and also unpredictable) as you've probably heard. Most restaurants & bars have a patio, usually complete with garage-door windows that slide up to make the whole space open to the outside.

Bikes and puppies are pretty popular. With the weather so nice, many people don't mind biking their commute. And we definitely love our dogs. It's not uncommon to see a pooch walking around grocery shopping with it's human. Ok I could seriously go on forever about all the general little things I love about Denver, but let's get to some specifics.

Denver Eats

BREAKFAST + BRUNCH

OLIVE & FINCH - I love brunch (ha, could you tell?), but it doesn't always have to be a planned outing. Olive & Finch offers a casual, order & seat yourself setting with from-scratch and ready-to-order dishes. A super casual brunch should still be delicious, and O&F has nailed the balance. My absolute favorite is the Milano which comes piping hot in a skillet with a side of fruit and toast. I also like to grab a rejuvenate juice, and a piece of gluten-free chocolate chip banana bread to take to-go.

SNOOZE - A breakfast spot with a truly authentic Denver vibe, Snooze boasts an eclectic & fun atmosphere and a menu that's full of breakfast classics with a creative twist. My most-loved dish has to be the Bella! Bella! Benny. There's a reason this spot usually has a wait that's at least 30 minutes long (but is commonly known to be up to 2 hours during prime brunch time). Its good...like really good. Luckily they offer free coffee in cute orange cups while you wait, along with patio games like cornhole or giant jenga.

CONCOURSE - This spot is fairly new to the Denver brunch scene and happens to be in my immediate neighborhood. Stapleton used to be the primary airport serving Denver, but when it was relocated further east, this meant there were acres of land just northeast of downtown waiting to be developed. New homes, shops & restaurants have filed the space with more to come. Concourse pays homage to it's location, both literally with the name and through the Colorado inspired dishes. My go-to is the Denver omlet with rosemary ham, cheddar & piquillo peppers. The fried chicken + cornmeal waffles are also a fan favorite.

fall style | fall outfit | dress up a tshirt | denver colorado travel | felt hat | olive green denim | raw kritix tees | denver fashion blogger | never skip brunch | cara newhart | local denver brand

LUNCH + HAPPY HOUR

MACHETE - I could eat tacos & drink margs daily (who's with me?). Their menu is inspired by the heart of Mexico City, and their margaritas don't mess around - they're stout and delicious. My preferred Machete tacos include the Arrachera and the Al Pastor. Marg-wise, my go-to is the skinny margarita, but I'm also in love with the raspberry marg since it's fruity but means business - with house-infused tequila and muddled fresh raspberries.

AVANTI FOOD & BEVERAGE - The best way to explain Avanti is seven different food trucks built into a two story bar, with a sweet rooftop view of downtown Denver. It's a modern day food hall with all open-seating where everyone can gather for happy hour or a casual lunch and eat whatever genre of food they're feeling at the moment. It's tough to pick a favorite, but the spot I eat at the most often is the Quiero Arepas restaurant.

ANTHONY'S - Let's be real, I order this pizza for a late-night or drunk snack more often than I actually go in and eat it for lunch. It's absolutely delicious either way. Anthony's is true New York style, but with a Colorado touch. Thin and fresh, plus they have amazing ranch. I'm not a pizza snob and I'm usually happy with any, but this pie stands out above most any other crafted in Denver. They have multiple locations, but we lived outside their delivery radius for a year and it was a struggle. Happy to be back in range of an old favorite. (oh P.S. Yes, they do have gluten free and you don't even miss it)

DINNER

PIATTI - Serving up classically delicious Italian in the heart of Cherry Creek. Piatti always has amazing specials and a great wine list, but my single favorite dish has to be their saffron pappardelle. If you're more of a classic spaghetti & bolognese person, I also highly recommend that dish - but be sure to add a meatball because they're super delicious. I love this spot for the classic vibe, plus the valet plays a pretty impressive game of tetris in the front lot since spots are limited, but valet is free (essential in Cherry Creek North).

OCEAN PRIME - This is the perfect date night spot, since I love seafood but my husband would rather stick to a delicious steak. The menu is absolutely fantastic, the setting is gorgeous, and the location is perfect - it's right in the heart of Larimer Square, which is Denver's most historic block. I have so many favorite dishes I won't bore you with the list, but get yourself a creme brulee for dessert - its worth it.

CHOLON - I went to Cholon for the first time for dinner with a couple friends from out of town. I had been for lunch before, and while it was good I wasn't exactly blown away. Dinner was another story altogether. From soup dumplings that pop in your mouth to pork belly served on a bun that was actually more along the lines of a cloud bread, our series of asian-inspired shared & small plates surprised and delighted with each round.

Shopping

If you're just looking for a great mall with some go-to stores plus a few high end options, my go-to is the Cherry Creek Shopping Center. I almost always valet - since the garage is paid parking, the few extra dollars for front door service is totally worth it. They also have fun events every once in a while, so be sure to check their website before you pop by.

If you're in search of shopping with a more Denver-only vibe, all you have to do is walk across 1st ave and you've got blocks and blocks of local shopping. We're talking boutiques, galleries, furniture stores, handmade finds, plus a few great restaurants (including Piatti, Machete, and Olive & Finch that I talked about above).

I have so so many favorite boutiques in Denver, but my three favorites in this shopping area would have to be A Line boutique, Stitch Boutique, and Inspyre Boutique. I also really love the Artisan Center for gifts & knick knacks.

Places + Activities

RINO - Denver's arts district, RiNo is home to much of the street art I talked about before, plus a slough of creative businesses - from craftsman & artists to retail shops & unique spots to grab a drink. My favorites for the latter are the Infinite Monkey Theorem and the newly-opened Blue Moon Brewery.

UNION STATION - For many locals this is just a spot to grab a drink from the Terminal Bar before commuting home, but if it's your first time in Denver Union Station & the surrounding area are a must-see. There are multiple restaurants + retail venues in Union Station...even a Snooze location (see above). It's the perfect spot for a photo-op since it's lit up seasonally on the outside (purple for rockies, red + green for the holidays, etc). Plus, the surrounding blocks are also a great place to explore and you're just a few blocks from Lodo (lower downtown, aka the young + hip bar scene)

PARKS - Denver has almost 200 parks, but the top two must-visits are Washington Park (aka "Wash Park) and City Park.

THE BEER - I'm no longer a beer girl myself since developing a gluten allergy (the worst!), but if you're a fan, Denver is definitely the place to find your new favorite brew. Micro breweries are everywhere and they're a super affordable way to have a night of drinks with friends. My (pre-allergy) favorites are the Breckenridge Brewery & Pub, the Denver Beer Company (I recommend the graham cracker stout) and Bull & Bush Pub & Brewery (I'm a little partial to this one because I used to live right next door and the food is delicious). Here's a full list, but if you can't hit them all I recommend Tap 14.

MISC FAVORITES - A few more of my absolute favorite spots would be Punch Bowl Social, Voodoo Doughnut, and Stanley Marketplace, which is a group of 50+ shops, restaurants & businesses built in an old hanger from the Stapleton Airport.

What I'm Wearing

I know, this tee is awesome. It's a design from Raw Krityx and a perfect way to tout the Colorado lifestyle.

Graphic tees have to be the OG fall transition piece.

So easy to layer, you can dress them up or down, and they work as your own personal billboard / conversation starter. If you're sold, you can get this exact one here (it also comes in white). Speaking of layering, a lace cardigan is a relatively unique and feminine way to achieve a warmer look - just in case you needed an idea for a sweater that's not totally a sweater.

If you watch my insta story, you've probably seen these earrings a few times. Not only that, you know I also got them in Hawaii and sadly can't find them anywhere on the mainland US. If you want a similar look you can check out these or these.

These raw hem, olive green jeans were a quick-pinch snag from Target, but they're already shaping up to be a fall staple. The perfect color, on-trend with the raw hem, and they've got a fun white paint splat. The price tag (just under $30) has got me wishing I could grab them in every color.

Everyone needs a good felt hat. This grey felight fedora was another quick snag, but from last season. It's back in stock and a great way to try out the trend before you invest in a more pricey version.

As always, You can shop this whole look via the VENNDY widget below.

Came to Vegas to Chill // Minus 5 Ice Bar

- Lifestyle, Travel

Winter is here. I've never been a huge fan of the cold, but something about a hot summer's day has me doing this thing  I do every year where I start wishing it was cold out so I could bundle up and snuggle by the fire with some hot tea. That winter wish came true when I was invited to Minus 5 Ice Bar in Vegas last week. Well...sans warm fire and hot tea, but plus tequila...so I'd call it a win.

Of course, every year in the middle of the Denver winter, I start to realize I was crazy for wishing winter upon myself, that's where Minus 5 is the perfect balance. You get the icy winter experience of living like Elsa in an ice castle (with cocktails) for a few hours, then you get to go back out to the blistering Vegas heat - all in one day.

The Minus 5 Experience

If you haven't figured it out from the photos, Minus 5 is a bar made completely out of ice. From the walls to the benches and chairs you sit on to the glass your drink is served in. The name comes from the fact that the space is kept at 5 degrees below Celsius.

When you first arrive you pick a package that includes a warm parka or a gorgeous faux fur coat (obvious choice) plus gloves, which are essential for holding your icy glass. Once you're in your winter wear, you then walk from the Vegas heat into a winter wonderland. The temperature is chilly, but a refreshing break from the summer sun and the coat and gloves are warm enough to let you stay awhile.

Something I loved about the experience was how amazing the lighting was. There are various colored LEDs that put on a light show by dimming, brightening, and changing colors. The light variation makes the space feel interactive and makes observing the ice sculptures even more fun.

In addition to lights, different parts of the space are designed with different themes, from an icy northern getaway with faux fur covering icy bar stools to a tropical space with ice-embedded beach chairs and complete with a cool palm tree sculpture.

The Coolest Part

You aren't allowed to bring in a phone or camera because it could damage the devices or melt the ice, but this is a whole other level of refreshing. I was allowed a camera so that I could capture the experience to share with  you, but once we finished taking photos it was so nice to see everyone so engaged.

It's a rarity to see a deviceless space - even in nature, much less a bar - that allows people to fully unplug and make room for personal interaction without the distraction of screens.

To watch everyone explore the space together and notice intricate details in the decor or scupltures that they otherwise may not have if they just been focused on capturing their experience via photos or sharing it in real-time on social media, was so much fun.

It was definitely a beautiful reminder of how important it is to unplug and focus on what's in front of us. To live in the moment instead of focusing on capturing it or living for our feed.

What I Wore.

I can't tell you where to shop this faux fur coat, but trust me I'm on the lookout for one. It's absolutely gorgeous and oh-so-warm. I definitely need to add one to my wardrobe for the chilly Denver winters and I'm thinking this one might be a good option.

I know you also can't really see what I'm wearing, but it's a super cute one-sleeve strappy jumpsuit from Forever 21. It has one long sleeve and an open back with one diagonal strap going across and it's perfect for fall & winter because you can throw a coat on over it to warm up and then take it off once inside to show off a little shoulder + open back. Oh, and its under $30!

I'm also wearing the Vince Camuto split shaft booties in grey, plus a pair of gorgeous gold earrings I got as a Holiday present from my good friend Marian who I used to do the 9-5 office grind with.

Finally, I give you the bun maker. Many of you ask how my buns always look so perfect and the secret is this little thing. Seriously, my buns would be nothing without it because I'm not that great at doing hair much less mine which is always having a frizz party.

5 tips for your first time in Vegas // Meghna Jewels

- Fashion, Travel

Before this last weekend, I was a Vegas virgin, mostly because I just never had a reason to go visit. This news was crazy to my husband, who grew up going pretty often since he lived only a few hours away. We spontaneously booked this trip after a few glasses of wine and I wasn't too sure what I was in store for.

All I had heard about time spent in Vegas was stories of craziness and shenanigans, which often included drinking too much or loosing stuff. I geared up for a wild ride, just in case. Turns out, Vegas is one of my hands down new favorite places to visit and with the flight from Denver under 2 hours, I see us going at least once every year.

I'm sharing my best tips for your first time in Vegas plus some details about this outfit.

Tips for your first time in Vegas

TIP 01: Take a cab if you're walking more than two buildings away.

In Vegas, things are [a lot] further away than they look. When you're looking out the window of the 31st floor of the Bellagio, things don't look very far away because you're so high up. The strip is 4 miles long, but because the buildings are close together, everything looks a lot closer than it is. Our rule of thumb is to cab if were we're going is over two buildings away, especially if it's hot.

TIP 02: Know how the casino drinks work, plan accordingly.

If you're in the casino, there is usually a cocktail waitress offering free drinks in an effort to keep you in your seat and spending money. This is the best way to drink if you're on a budget (don't forget to tip). If you're looking for more complicated drinks like martinis, those will be free on the cocktail waitress but they are usually a lot better (and stronger) from the casino bar.

Rich and I couldn't help ourselves going back to the casino bar again and again to get our drinks of choice: a lemon drop martini for me and a french martini for him. They were just SOO much better. Oh PS, its legal to have open containers on the strip so don't forget to take a drink to-go when you're out walking around.

TIP 03: Don't eat bad food

Vegas has no shortage of delicious and highly-rated restaurants at a range of price points. There is no excuse for a low-quality meal. Whether it's a fancy dinner or a quick lunch, you're surrounded by amazing restaraunts. All it takes is a little research and checking ratings before booking. Also, peak dinner time in Vegas is from 6-8pm. If you don't have a res and don't want to wait, be flexible and eat a little earlier (5pm) or later (9pm)

TIP 04: Know how the costume characters work

The Strip has someone dressed up as every character you can imagine. From showgirls to Minnie Mouse, you can find just about anyone. Just remember this is not Disneyland, so if you take a photo with one of them they expect you to pay for it - usually about $20. If that's not worth it to you, pass to avoid an awkward situation or negotiate your price up front.

TIP 05: Don't book the cheapest hotel

I know this is tempting, because how much will you be in your room anyway? But booking the cheapest spot on the strip or staying off the strip is a rookie mistake and you may be disappointed. Vegas hotels are unlike your usual destination hotel. They're huge, beautiful, and packed with loads of amenities like amazing restaurants, gorgeous pools, and attached malls. Pick a hotel towards the center of the strip so it's easier to get around and choose your hotel based on the amenities that really matter to you.

If you're on a budget, don't go on peak nights. Saturday nights can run you as high as $500 a night, but booking on a sunday night or mid-week could be as low as $150. This is a pretty good resource for travel deals + hotels.

Meghna Jewels

When Meghna first reached out about her jewelry designs, I fell in love instantly with her line. It shouldn't have been a surprise, her pieces were featured in "Gossip Girl," worn by Serena (ahem..I mean Blake Lively) which is one of my all-time favorite shows. Each piece she designs is inspired by her Indian heritage, and she likes to describe them as "fiercely gorgeous" which I think is absolutely spot on.

For me, her pieces are the perfect blend of statement and wearable. The colorfulness and boldness of her line stands out prominently, and as a color lover I can see myself adding quite a few of her pieces to my wardrobe.

The signature pave arches signifies fierceness and letting going of fear, taking a step forward in what you believe in and pursuing your passion. Follow your own individual style, follow your dreams and follow what you believe in." - Meghna

She sent me the textured druzy necklace and ring, which had a beautiful muted gold base and soft blue stone while the size and texture made a bold statement. Both pieces have a beautiful vintage feel to them. My favorite design elements have to be the halo of sparkly CZ stones and the beautiful texture of the druzy stone. It's natural roughness adds interest and dimension, which make it the perfect statement piece.

Her two signature collections are the Bora Bora collection, which has a natural and earthy feel with leaf shapes but boasts brightly colored stones and an exotic feel. Her other collection is the Claw collection which features sharp paved arches and edgy designs.

What I Wore

The first think you might be thinking, is why am I in long sleeves in Vegas in the middle of August. Well, here's another pro-tip: it might be blazing outside but the hotels & casinos overcompensate by blasting the AC. This particular day was relatively cool for summer (like 87 vs 106 degrees out) and we did this shoot while walking on the breezeway from the Bellagio to the Cosmopolitan. I found myself in long sleeves or bringing along a light jacket for most of the trip so I wasn't freezing when inside.

This top is actually a choker bodysuit and it is amazingly comfortable (Arlet Wine Bodysuit - TOBI). The fabric is soft and has great stretch, plus wine is definitely shaping up to be one of my favorite colors for this fall. I'm also a huge fan of the back. The choker neckline is achieved by a vertical bar back, which is just gorgeous. My pants are actually the faux leather leggings from Spanx.

If you've been around this blog for a little bit you've heard me rave about these before and for all you newbies I'm going to do it again. They're fabric...not plastic like most leather ones and coated in a shiny layer that just makes them look like leather. Haute not hot, spanx so they hold everthing in, and so comfortable.

These velvet floral booties were another snag from the Nordies sale. Bad news, the price has gone back up but the good news is they're still in stock. I'm obsessed with the wine-colored floral print and the hints of navy. I'm thinking these will be a wardrobe staple for a couple seasons.

Summer Beachy Date Night Look

- Fashion, Travel
Beach Vacation Dinner Look | Summer outfits | vacay outfits | Summer date night look | white jeans | top knot | Beach outfit

Aloha.

Spending a week on Oahu's North Shore has been amazing. Soaking up sun, watching surfers, sipping mai tais, and eating delicious fresh seafood. As a southern girl at heart, I'm used to getting a little dressed up to go to dinner, even if it is a relaxed beachy spot. Here's one of my favorite dinner looks from our trip to Oahu.

We stayed at the Turtle Bay Resort for our wedding and one of our favorite dinner spots was Roy's Beach House, which is a beautiful upscale casual venue right on the beach. So here's a little more about my favorite dinner spot on Oahu's North Shore plus a little more about this outfit and how to shop it.

Roy's Beach House

The restaurant is open-air and a perfect place to watch the sunset over the ocean. When I say it was our favorite, I'm not kidding: we went 3 nights in a row.

They had a range of amazing dishes and a perfect view not to mention the North Shore has a fairly remote feel compared to city life.  Most all of the upscale dining spots are on-resort unless you drive 15 min to Haleiwa where there are a couple restaurant options and a whole area of food trucks plus a couple great shaved ice places.

This spot gets pretty busy, so if you're headed to the North Shore and want to plan a beachside sunset dinner, you'll need to be sure to make a reservation. The chocolate souffle is a must-have and the pineapple martini was also amazing.

Also, Turtle Bay has a lot of stray kitties running around. I'm not necessarily a cat person, but they were pretty cute and gentle and didn't seem to be bothering guests. I even made a cat friend during this shoot (see the last photo)

Beachside Style

Let's talk about this outfit. First things first, I love white denim. It makes every color pop and I feel like it makes me look a lot more golden and tan. Since open-air beachside venues can often get a little breezy and chilly at night, these white high-waist jeans were a perfect choice to stay warm but keep it beachy.

I picked this lace top in coral since it's officially my summer color, but it is also available in 6 other colors. I love the lace plus the fact that it's fitted and has cute ruffled sleeves. Oh plus, its under $25. Steal.

For accessories, I picked this embroidered clutch, since it has fun bright colors including coral, which helps carry my accent color though the whole look. This clutch has been linked on my insta for a while, and has since sold out. It might come back in stock so I still linked it above, but if not some other good options are this one (which is under $30) and this one, which is super fun and great if you're not that into the coral.  This one, this one and this one are also good options.

I'm also wearing my favorite wood bangle that I've had forever (you can get a similar one here), and this tassel bracelet from the SUGARFIX collection. For earrings, I'm wearing these (which I totally forgot to take a details photo of) and my shoes are my favorite gold wedges from Lauren Ralph Lauren.

Beach Vacay Ready: Honeymoon Packing List

- Fashion, Travel
Honeymoon Packing List Beach vacation to Oahu Hawaii | Cara Newhart - Never Skip Brunch Blog

Ah packing.

I somehow can get away with wearing a shirt three days in a row, but when it comes to packing for vacation I turn into some sort of professional packer and I'm like, "I'm probably going to change at least 3-4 times a day, and I'm there for 10 days so I need to pack at least 35 outfits and 7 pairs of shoes."

This trip, I tried to make a honeymoon packing list so that I wasn't just throwing everything remotely beachy that I own into my suitcase.

Since I took the time to make a list, I decided I would share it with you in case you're also a pack-everything kinda girl. Most of these pieces are hitting the blog via individual outfits pretty soon, but this list includes a lot of my beach vacay fashion must-haves.

The links are all shoppable so if you've got a beach vacation coming up, you can snag a few of my favorites before you hit the waves.

OUTFITS

First things first, here are my picks for some fun & flowy beach outfits. I picked a range of tops and bottoms that can easily be mixed and matched to create a range of outfits. I tried sticking to a similar color scheme so that my accessories would fit no matter what.

TOPS

I packed a classic off-shoulder style with bright vertical stripes, a super fun printed pineapple tee, a lacy fitted top with short bell sleeves, a blue tie-dyed open back tank, and a v-neck with little pineapples on it. Not shoppable below is a tank I got from Victoria's Secret that was part of a buy two bras get a free tank deal. It is SO SOFT and light, which is perfect for the beach.

BOTTOMS

I packed some high-waisted black shorts, a pair of white denim crop jeans, bright royal blue shorts, fun & flowy patterned pants, and a pair of stretchy athletic shorts for jogs / yoga.

DRESSES & ROMPERS

Flowy maxis are a beach wardrobe essential. I packed two slitted maxis: a red one with a fun Hawaiian-style pattern and a more classic pink floral. I also threw in a floral romper with a beachy floral pattern.

ACCESSORIES

I brought along my rose half frame sunnies that I just can't get enough of. A beach canvas clutch with brigh embroidery and tassel accent, a beaded multi-strand bracelet, some tassel earrings  + a necklace from the SUGARFIX collection, and a gold earring set with some modern line earrings and a little sparkle.

I tried to keep everything in the same color palette (Pink / yellow with gold accents) so that I could mix and match without thinking and my look would feel polised. Not pictured (and not shopable) is my wood bangle which I've had forever that I also brought along.

SHOES

Sticking to just 5 pairs of shoes was hard. Like, real hard. I tried to choose a variety of colors and heights so that I could dress any outfit up or down. I went with a pair of black wedges by Gianni Bini (mine are a little different than the ones shown below because they are from last season, but I linked this season's style which is similar).

I also brought my favorite gold wedges that I've been in love with all spring. For flats & flops I chose a fun sandal with a coral accent plus a pair by Sam & Libby. The ones I got were a fun hawaiian-style pattern that had a striped base and some floral accents, but they also have great gold and silver metallic ones. Finally, I brought my nikes for closed-toe activities like jogging and golf.

SWIMWEAR & BEACH ESSENTIALS

I brought two swimsuits because I usually forget and putting on a wet and cold swimsuit the next day when it hasn't is the worst. The first one is a lacy one-piece from Becca (mine is black) that is so amazingly comfortable. I love that the back is mostly open and has a deep v. My other suit is actually from PINK, and I can't find the right link so I've linked a super similar one below. It's a high waist bikini with a halter top that laces up the front.

For cover-ups I picked a kaftan dress with subtle stripes and tassels on the arms and bottom plus a black and white pineapple top that's pretty long. In my beach bag, I've got my new favorite "Eat, Beach, Sleep" hat plus by go-to sunscreen(s) by Coola. Warning: you're probably going to see way too much of this hat, but I can't resist because its under $15.

PLANE ESSENTIALS

I usually make myself a little relaxation kit for the plane. In addition to Advil and snacks, I usually pack a few things to help me unwind and settle in for the long flight. First up is an eye mask with an important message (hehe), next I've got a mini emergency kit with a few mini essentials for travel. Urban outfitters has a ton of different mini kits like a beach kit, hangover kit and love kit. Another essential are these Beats wireless earphones + a regular phone charger (not below).

These socks by bliss plus the gel under eye pads are perfect to make the plane ride a little more spa-like.  Finally, I packed some travel-size Evian facial spray to help freshen up and keep my face from feeling all dried out from the flight.

HONEYMOON ESSENTIALS

I think you know what these are for 🙂 I got this bra and  Victorias Secret and lace trim babydoll (which I got in lavender). I also packed my favorite perfume.
